After a very weird dream and a push from his wife, Bart Cleveland began writing fiction in 2007. His first novels, The Purification and Jimbo’s Big Day, won awards in science fiction and thriller categories in Southwest Writers and Writer’s League of Texas contests.
Bart’s background is in telling brand stories, working for companies such as Coca-Cola, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, and James Hardie Siding. His work has won hundreds of the ad industry’s top awards, including his ad agency being named the most creative small agency in the US by the AAAAs in the early 2000s.
Bart has also written about creativity and advertising for ad industry publications, including Communication Arts, Creativity, One, A Magazine, and TalentZoo.com.
In 2005, Bart worked with Advertising Age Magazine to launch Small Agency Diary. It soon became the magazine’s most successful blog, spawning Ad Age’s Small Agency Conference and Small Agency Creative Awards.
Bart lives, works, and writes near Austin, Texas.
